Трагедія 11 вересня стала найбільшим терористичним актом в історії через одночасну величезну кількість загиблих — 2977 осіб.
🇺🇦️ Збройні Сили України вшановують відважних громадян Сполучених Штатів Америки, хто першими прийшов на допомогу, рішучих військових та цивільних американців, які проявили надзвичайну мужність врятувати інших 11 вересня 2001 року.
Наприклад Іван Скала, американець українського походження, який героїчно загинув під час терористичного акту 11 вересня 2001 року. Іван Скала працював поліцейським у Нью-Йорку і добровільно зголосився рятувати життя людей того трагічного дня. До трагедії Джон працював у нічну зміну. Зміна закінчилася о сьомій ранку, теракт стався вже о 8 ранку і він, не вагаючись, почав евакуювати людей. Скала двічі заходив у вежі, що горять, перевіряючи, чи не залишилися люди на поверхах. Він мав повернутися після другого проходу, але зайшов до будівлі втретє, щоб перевірити, чи залишилися люди. У цей момент вежа впала.

For instance, Ivan Skala, an American of Ukrainian descent, who heroically perished during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Ivan Skala served as a New York City police officer and volunteered to rescue lives on that fateful day. Prior to the tragedy, John worked the night shift, which ended at 7:00 a.m., but the attack occurred shortly after at 8:00 a.m., and without hesitation, he began evacuating people. Skala entered the burning towers twice, meticulously checking floors to ensure no one was left behind. He was expected to return after the second entry, but he ventured inside a third time to verify if anyone remained. At that moment, the tower collapsed.
