Збройні Сили України вшановують пам'ять усіх, хто рятував євреїв під час Другої світової війни, зберігаючи людські життя в період безпрецедентної жорстокості нацистського режиму, породженої нелюдськими практиками кремлівських попередників.
Збройні Сили України відстоюють принципи протидії антисемітизму, расизму та будь-яким формам нетерпимості. Терор російських військ проти українського народу сьогодні є прямим відлунням свавілля нацистського режиму. Міжнародна спільнота має докласти всіх зусиль, щоб воєнні злочинці були покарані.
Цю пам'ятну дату у 2021 році запровадила Верховна Рада України. Таким чином Україна приєдналася до європейської спільноти націй, які формують пантеон Праведників народів світу.
За даними ізраїльського Меморіального інституту Голокосту і героїзму «Яд Вашем», Україна посідає четверте місце у світі – після Польщі, Нідерландів та Франції – за кількістю осіб, які допомагали євреям. Під час Голокосту Україна втратила 1,5 мільйона євреїв – це чверть від 6 мільйонів знищених євреїв Європи.
Рятівниками були українці, поляки, кримські татари, вірмени, греки, німці, представники різних конфесій. Ці люди виявляли людяність, попри те що за допомогу євреям смертна кара загрожувала не лише рятівникам, а й їхнім родинам.
Станом на 2024 рік 2 713 українців отримали звання Праведників народів світу. Ізраїль відзначає цим званням неєвреїв, які з ризиком для власного життя рятували євреїв від нацистського знищення. Праведники отримують іменну медаль, почесний сертифікат і право вписати своє ім'я на Стіні Честі в Саду Праведників у Єрусалимі.
Насправді рятівників євреїв значно більше, ніж офіційно визнаних Праведників. Дослідження цієї теми в СРСР було фактично табуйоване. Після здобуття Україною незалежності кількість відзначених зросла від трохи більше ніж 100 осіб до понад двох тисяч семисот.
Докази подвигів українців зберігаються, зокрема, у львівському архіві – понад 40 кримінальних справ нацистського суду проти українців і поляків, які намагалися допомогти євреям. Останні справи датуються весною 1944 року – в них ідеться про знищення українців, які переховували євреїв протягом кількох років.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine honour the memory of all those who saved Jews during World War II, preserving human lives amid the unprecedented cruelty of the Nazi regime – a cruelty rooted in the inhumane practices of its Kremlin predecessors.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine uphold the principles of combating antisemitism, racism, and all forms of intolerance. The terror waged by Russian forces against the Ukrainian people today is a direct echo of the Nazi regime's tyranny. The international community must spare no effort to ensure that war criminals are brought to justice.
This day of remembrance was established by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2021, thus joining the European community of nations that honour the pantheon of the Righteous Among the Nations.
According to Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority, Ukraine ranks fourth in the world – after Poland, the Netherlands, and France – by the number of individuals who aided Jews. During the Holocaust, Ukraine lost 1.5 million Jews, accounting for a quarter of the 6 million Jews murdered across Europe.
The rescuers included Ukrainians, Poles, Crimean Tatars, Armenians, Greeks, Germans, and members of various religious denominations. These people demonstrated humanity despite the fact that helping Jews carried the death penalty not only for the rescuers themselves but also for their families.
As of 2024 @YADVashem, 2,713 Ukrainians have been awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations. Israel bestows this title upon non-Jews who risked their own lives to save Jews from Nazi extermination.
The Righteous receive a personalized medal, a certificate of honour, and the right to have their name inscribed on the Wall of Honour in the Garden of the Righteous in Jerusalem.
In reality, the number of those who rescued Jews far exceeds those officially recognized as Righteous. Research into this subject was effectively suppressed in the Soviet Union. After Ukraine gained independence, the number of those honoured grew from just over 100 to more than two thousand seven hundred.
Evidence of the heroism of Ukrainians is preserved, in particular, in the Lviv archives – over 40 criminal cases from Nazi courts against Ukrainians and Poles who attempted to help Jews. The latest cases date to the spring of 1944 and document the execution of Ukrainians who had been sheltering Jews for several years.
We bow our heads before the heroic courage of Ukrainians. We remember the victims of the Nazi regime – across the world and in Ukraine.
