
Andrii HNATOV – Lieutenant General, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, member of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters.
In 2001 graduated from Kharkiv Institute of Tank Troops.
Rose through the ranks from tank platoon commander to chief of staff – deputy commander of a separate marine brigade.
In 2018 was appointed commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, which he led until 2021.
As of 2022 – chief of staff and deputy commander of the Operational Command “South” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In June 2022 was awarded the military rank of brigadier general.
From late 2023 to February 2024 – commander of the Ukrainian Navy’s Marine Corps.
Since March 2024 – commander of forces under the Operational Command “East”.
On June 24, 2024, by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 375/2024, Andrii Hnatov was appointed Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On August 23, 2024, was awarded the rank of major general.
On February 27, 2025, was appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On March 16, 2025, by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 170/2025, was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
