

⚡️⚡️ On 8th October 2026, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining and petrochemical complex in Salavat, Republic of Bashkortostan, russian federation. A fire broke out at the facility.
ℹ️ Background. Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in the russian federation. The facility has an annual processing capacity of up to 10 million tonnes of hydrocarbon feedstock and produces motor petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene and other oil refining and petrochemical products.
The facility is involved in supplying the needs of the russian armed forces.
Strikes against such facilities of the russian aggressor are an exercise of Ukraine’s inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and are aimed at reducing the military and economic potential of the russian federation.
