

⚡️⚡️ During the night of 2nd October 2026, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka Oil Refinery in Volgograd, Volgograd region, russian federation. Explosions and a fire were reported at the facility.
ℹ️ Background. LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka is one of the largest oil refineries in the russian federation. Its annual crude oil refining capacity is approximately 15 million tonnes. The facility produces motor petrol, diesel fuel and aviation fuel. It is involved in supplying the needs of the russian armed forces.
In addition, the Samara linear production dispatching station was hit in the area of Prosvet, Samara region, russian federation. A fire was reported at the facility.
ℹ️ Background. The Samara linear production dispatching station is a major facility for receiving, storing and blending crude oil. It receives crude oil through main oil pipelines from Tatarstan, Western Siberia and other oil-producing regions of the russian federation. The facility blends high- and low-sulphur crude oil from different fields to produce the Urals export blend, which accounts for up to 50% of the russian federation’s total oil exports. The facility is involved in supplying the needs of the russian armed forces.
Strikes against such facilities are an exercise of Ukraine’s inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and are aimed at reducing the military and economic potential of the russian federation.
The results of the strikes are being clarified.
Operations against key military and infrastructure targets of the russian aggressor are ongoing.
